Auburn Hair

Lyrics by Tom Sharp

I fell in love in Auburn with a girl with auburn hair. She could send me anywhere, but she would keep me there. In the evenings she would sing, her fingers wrapped in auburn rings. She sang of times in ages past when youth and love would always last. Our hero strives to find the pearl, to meet the foe, to get the girl. But he is fought by tooth and nail and never finds the holy grail. He strives, he fails, he loses track, but drags his broken body back. He appeals to her with great big sighs, but she’s only a ghoul with a good disguise. I fell in love in Auburn with a girl with auburn hair.
