Drinking from a coffee cup, The painted word astounds me, While the black cat licks herself; Blue, perfume, mild, silent, smooth. Garden of the shadow—night; Dreaming of a gingham dress, Awake, plant of light, no rest. Damp of grounds, fermenting grace, The panty-dark surrounds me.
