Egyptian gods and goddesses are almost human have unique features like the head of a wolf. Roman gods were more human, and they even interbred with humans. Science fiction has toyed with aliens who are not humanoids; however, most television and film aliens are humanoids so they can be done by actors, and what we see on the screen and our image of the gods, perhaps, influences what we believe we’ll eventually meet.
