তুমি যে কাজ করছ, আমায়
 সেই কাজে কি লাগাবে না।
 কাজের দিনে আমায় তুমি
 আপন হাতে জাগাবে না?
 ভালোমন্দ ওঠাপড়ায়
 বিশ্বশালার ভাঙাগড়ায়
 তোমার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে যেন
 তোমার সাথে হয় গো চেনা। ভেবেছিলেম বিজন ছায়ায়
 নাই যেখানে আনাগোনা,
 সন্ধ্যাবেলায় তোমায় আমায়
 সেথায় হবে জানাশোনা।
 অন্ধকারে একা একা
 সে দেখা যে স্বপ্ন দেখা,
 ডাকো তোমার হাটের মাঝে
 চলছে যেথায় বেচাকেনা।
