The Day I Fell (literal translation of Victor de la Cruz’s poem)

Night, night fall, like in a well pain in the stomach, non-water, when I left my country. My heart aches for life and I came to where I stood; why am i in the country —I thought to myself— and I’m not going to die on someone else’s floor I don’t know who he is.
