Instead of renting an apartment we live in the marina and pay marina fees and what it takes to maintain this old boat. We do laundry and take showers in the common buildings, and I keep geraniums in pots. Except for being cramped, we’re comfortable enough. If times get tough, we can sell the car and sail to Jamaica.
