He gave away what he couldn’t sell

Chang made kites, bamboo propellers, and spinning tops. He didn’t have a home but travelled from village to village and tried to sell his flying and spinning toys. When he sold a kite, the money could buy the string for another kite or top. He slept under his cloak and he ate whatever people gave him. He sold things for less than it took to make them, and if a child had no money, and no string or stick to trade, Chang would give away a toy for nothing and a smile.
