He fed pigeons

After Mr. Smith retired, he bought a bowler hat and took a flat by a park with a bench where he fed pigeons. He managed to change an exciting and risky life into a boring and predictable one. Only he knew it wasn’t the same life, so he compensated by carrying a walking stick and developing a funny walk. When he went out, he made it a point to be seen with a long loaf of French bread under his arm.
