Reminiscence of Historic Sites (I) (literal translation of Du Fu’s poem)

Disconnected from the northeastern dust, drifting in the southwest heaven and earth. The towers and pavilions of the Three Gorges are submerged in the sun and moon, and the clothes of the Five Rivers are in the clouds and mountains. The Jiehu served their master and were ultimately unreliable, and the poets were sad that they had not returned yet. Yu Xin was the most desolate in his life, and his poems and essays in his old age moved the Jiangguan Pass.
