Wind blows smoke from a thousand miles, adding its haze to the subdued colors of autumn. There’s a secret passage from the palace hall to the imperial garden, a dangerous place today. In the palace, embroidered swans give the impression of being wild and free. Emperors here enjoyed song and dance here since ancient times, but those days are gone.
