People have reason to be upset, government ministers are corrupt the people are impatient, and the war’s made everything worse. Barbarians break into the city, burn homes, and murder people. The panicking emperor flees and blames others afterwards. He blames his advisors and generals but that doesn’t improve anything. Less competent officers are put in charge. I just try to keep the dust out of my eyes.
