In praise of the public room in Dayun Temple (IV) (literal translation of Du Fu’s poem)

A child draws flowers from the well, and is accustomed to using the bucket. Sprinkling water does not wet the ground, and sweeping seems to be without a broom. The bright clouds shine on the pavilion, and the mist blows through the high windows. Flowers on the side of the path, fluttering and leaning on the willows on the steps. The world is difficult, and I have to retire after the good time. We talked deeply, and how can I keep silent? I return my staff and whip, and look back after a short farewell. The mud is dirty, and there are many dogs in the country. Since I am bound, I come to rest and run. Being close to you is like white snow, so why should I be bothered by the heat?
