Dreaming of Li Bai: 1 by Tom Sharp

I get over my grief for the dead, but I’m always sad for the living. Li Bai has been exiled to Jiangnan where epidemics afflict the unwary. He visited me in a dream, so I’m afraid that he’s died. Like a bird caught in a net, his soul may be crying to be released. When I woke up, I thought I saw his face but it was the moonlight on the ceiling. Our lives are long journeys over rough seas, and monsters lurk beneath the waves.
