Dream of Li Bai (II) (literal translation of Du Fu’s poem)

The floating clouds travel all day long, and the wanderer has not come for a long time. I dreamed of you for three nights, and I can see your affection. I am always anxious to go home, and the bitter road is not easy. There are many storms in the rivers and lakes, and the boats may be lost. I scratch my white hair when I go out, as if I have failed my life ambition. The capital is full of officials and hats, but this person is alone and haggard. Who said that the net is wide, and it will entangle my old body. A name that will last for thousands of years, but a lonely life after death.
