Parting from Master Zan by Tom Sharp

Rivers never stop flowing and guests never stay. Either I linger in a place and suffer or I’m sent far away and suffer. Some, like Master Zan, bear it all, but I’m bothered day and night. I can’t bear leaving friends, but I miss my home and family. I should be a cloud drifting in the sky, not a clod of dirt that shivers in the cold. I’m happy to share with an old friend but even my horse misses its stable.
