Remembering my brothers on a moonlit night (literal translation of Du Fu’s poem)

The sentry drums stop people from walking, and there is a wild goose cry in the autumn at the border. The dew starts to turn white tonight, and the moon is bright in my hometown. My brothers are all scattered, and there is no home to ask about their lives and deaths. The letters I sent have not arrived for a long time, and the war has not yet ended.
