Staying with Master Zan (literal translation of Du Fu’s poem)

Why did the khakkhara come here? The autumn wind is already rustling. The rain has desolated the chrysanthemums in the deep courtyard, and the frost has fallen on half of the lotus in the pond. Exile is better against nature, and emptiness is not away from Zen. We met and stayed overnight, and the moon in the valley was full towards us.
