Abanjar was a sculptor of large metal works. Menzel Bourguiba was the perfect place for him. Here were empty buildings with high roofs, heaps of iron scraps rusting in old shipyards. Here were cranes and ships to move his work across the seas to anywhere in Europe or Asia. This was hard work, but without it maybe only Abanjar would have seen the beauty of rusting scrapyards.
