Good People — Pomo

A creature cannot survive without his family. Without his family, he is pitiful, as though he had no mouth to speak or hands to hold a stick. He is not a person; he is nothing. He has no one to share with him when misfortune comes, no one to care for him when he gets sick, no one to protect him when he gets old. Be sure to get along, to treat others with respect; be sure to care for others before you satisfy yourself. Be sure to learn and follow. We are good people because we have each other. If a person could not be accepted by his people, it would be better for the head man to pay to have him killed.
