Strings — Yokuts

Strings hold each rock together, each rock pile, and each mountain. A string is tied to hold each tree together; and all trees are tied together with strings. A string holds the deer together, each deer, each herd of deer, and all the deer. Strings hold each of us together, each family and each tribe; all of us are tied together. Each of my words is tied to the next word, and to all the words of my people, to all the words in your head, and thus this prayer is like a string that ties me to you, to all people, to the deer, to the trees, and to the mountains. We are all tied together with strings, like everything else, and we are all tied together.
