The wild

The wild, the wilderness, is wild only from our point of view, for in the wild humans have no control. Here, trees and bushes grow wherever they can from the tree lines to the rivers. Here, birds fly wherever they wish after bugs and seeds. Creeks and rivers flow according to only the laws of physics from the highlands to the narrow and wide valleys. Here, the hunter and the hunted cautiously go about their lives, keenly aware of their own parts in a great fabric of dependencies, with its miracles and necessities, that ensures the greater good, but not their own.
