I hiked into the forest below Mount Daitain to visit the Taoist priest who wasn’t there. Instead, I found wet peach blossoms on the ground, wild bamboo rushing in the mist, waterfalls hanging on the mountainsides, and deer watching from the shadows of pines, Nobody rang the temple bell, but I heard a dog barking in the rain.
