We may separate the light from the dark We may make time We may grow wheat for bread and cows for milk and cheese and trees for apples that formerly only God grew We may build fences and call the land ours We make love But still people starve having forgotten the greed that starves them Still people forget and forget to remember We may shorten the distance between New York and San Francisco and still not understand each other.
