One

“One” identifies the first in a sequence, such as, at birth, one’s first breath. Being one of a kind, a unique particular, not an anonymous choice out of billions, it signifies an entity, such as you, with an identity, such as yours, that can’t be questioned. It is no more sensible to ask whether we would have evolved on an earth without oxygen. The point is that here you are, as such, and, in every way, you are yourself. You’re not pointless, nor are you indispensable. You don’t need to have been chosen, to be what you are.
