How any child believes this nonsense says a lot about being a child, and maybe something about being human. Gifts for all children in the world fit into his bag, his bag fits into the sleigh, his sleigh is pulled through the sky by eight flying reindeer, and he delivers gifts by descending chimneys. If I were inventing this myth, I would have made it easer to believe, but maybe it’s doubted less because it’s so outlandish.
