Horses overrun public lands. Horses are noble, strong, dangerous, and beautiful, but they are also unable to match their populations with available resources. Lacking natural predators, they damage their own ranges by overgrazing. It’s difficult to know what to do about this, as even rounding them up can be a form of cruelty.
