Another “originalist” sect was the Jesus Community movement. These people took the words of Jesus literally where he said to give everything to the poor and to share bread and all things in common. Community living, they believed, was not just for monasteries and nunneries. After these people gave everything to the poor, they could not pay their taxes so they lost their homes. Most of them died of cold on the streets of Budapest in the brutal winter of 912 A.D.
