Death of gods

It’s a popular misconception that gods live forever. Strange, when many of our stories describe gods who die or disappear. We even have a word for it: deicide. True, gods don’t seem to die of old age. Sometimes another god kills them. I guess that’s better than dying because we get tired of them, which would be like abandoning infants in a hot cars. Nietzsche knew this, even though he might have been wrong about Yahweh. Yahweh can’t die while we still expect Jesus to return. That be like Jesus’ Siamese twin dying, too gruesome to contemplate. Fairies also suffer death, like hummingbirds I suppose. They are so small that we seldom find them lying cold on stone.
