Critics say LPM is a cult for believers in UFOs. Defenders say it’s the same as any other religion, since neither the existence of God nor the existence of UFOs can be proven. Alien telepathy is like prayer. Assuming the benevolence of God or the alien race, and the role of priests, mediums, and prophets are commonalities. If Catholicism is a religion then so is LPM.
