Mistaken identity leads to danger and the undoing of a spy ring. It’s more common in fiction that a character is not being paranoid because they really are after him.
It’s big and threatening, and you have nowhere to hide, a nightmare from which you can’t wake up. Throw yourself in the dirt and hide between the rows of corn. The cornstalks rustling sound like death.
