Dragonfly

Raptorial, carnivorous, and territorial, adult dragonflies are fast, powerful, and agile fliers with acute and fast eyesight. The have hovered over ponds since the Early Jurassic. Three thousand species live all over the world. The name, they say, came from drac, which means “devil” or “dragon” in Romanian. They had a tale that the dragonfly was Saint George’s horse cursed by the devil.
