Song of River City (literal translation of Su Shi’s poem)

Ten years of life and death, I can’t forget you without thinking about you. A thousand miles away, a lonely grave, no one to talk about the desolation. Even if we meet, we won’t recognize each other, with dust on our faces and frost on our temples. Last night, I suddenly returned to my hometown in a dream, and I was dressing up in the small window. We looked at each other without words, but tears flowed down our cheeks. I guess the place where my heart breaks every year is the short pine hill on a moonlit night.
