Democratic participation is something like praying, but it doesn’t require belief in the supernatural. There are different ways to send a message to democratic representatives. Some vote; some send letters or make calls; some petition; some donate for a cause; and some buy influence. It’s not supernatural. They say money talks and big money talks big.
