Our boy Joey got involved in this thing. My wife, Betty, thinks it’s atrocious. Unsanitary and outrageous. I don’t know. I think it’s teaching Joey some nerve. It gives him something to do during recess. Better than beating up the younger boys. I think it’s funny.
I don’t know about blowflies, but it’s a kind of phobia, people’s reaction to flies. A pathological aversion. When flies are just a normal part of the natural process.
At least Joey isn’t as successful at this as Tommy is. Joey’s more the monitor, the boy with the stopwatch.
True. It would be good to give the boys a better way to spend their time. But I gotta admire their ingenuity.
