My friends think it’s possible that the raccoon-like creature spoke to me, or that I’ve gone crazy. I think we have a burglar who has a trained raccoon. Must be looking for valuables. Good luck. I’ve been looking also and I haven’t found anything. The cabin is more of a money-pit than an asset. The only thing of value there is a bottle of scotch, half empty.

Didn’t know you could train a raccoon. However smart they are, they’re just too independent and mischievous. Even if they can get used to using a litter box, I don’t think it’s likely that they can be trained to search a cabin or retrieve anything. The modus operandi would depend on people not suspecting that it’s possible.

Maybe it wasn’t a raccoon. If not, what was it? There’s a big wilderness around us. I think it doesn’t make a lot of sense to think we know everything that lives in it.

At any rate, nothing seemed to be missing. I would just want to warn others around the lake. They should make sure their windows are securely fastened.
