Feast of the Circumcision of Christ

Of course Jesus wasn’t born in December nor circumcised on 1 January, but in the wisdom of the our Jewish traditions, we celebrate the circumcision eight days after the birth. In the Christian traditions, we talk about the day the first blood of the Christ was shed. We’re not supposed to think that the new year begins with bloodshed, but with a hint of redemption.
