For the Polish, July is lipiec— “month of lindens.” For Croatians, sȓpanj— “month of reaping with a sickle.” For Ukrainians, July is липень (lypen)— “month of flowering lindens.” For Macedonians, July is Златец (Zlatec)— “the golden month.” For the Czechs, July is červenec— “month of small fruits.”
