Misusukūrutīchā

Misusukūrutīchā, or, in English, Miss School Teacher, appears to children under the age of 10 and tells them to spell a difficult word. If they cannot, she grasps their right hand and raps its knuckles with a wooden ruler. If they spell the word correctly, she smiles and disappears. In real life, Misusukūrutīchā had been a dedicated teacher in an elementary school in Hokaido, who was punished by her superior for not being strict enough. She never appears to more than one child at a time, and when she appears, she’s always dressed in white silks with a black ribbon in her hair.
