Hard work can improve an artistic gift. Sometimes all you need is to believe you can do it. With time, even misfortune can seem normal. Skin color is a gift; adult height is a gift. Some have a gift for languages, some for mathematics, some for music, some for remembering faces. In a sea of water molecules, all the molecules are the same, but each drop contains a million bacteria, ten million viruses, and thousands of other living microbes. Each human body is home to trillions of microbes— bacteria, fungi, viruses, archaea. This is the world we are given, being a random selection of things that used to work. Some things that make us as we are were with us, potentially, when we were born, and some got added later. Some have been accepted; some have been rejected. Some are advantages; some are disadvantages. Some apparent disadvantages are secretly advantages. Each human being should be given a chance to figure out what they have and what they need and everyone should know diversity is a gift.
