Recessive

For many seemingly normal people, weirdness is like a recessive gene. They shouldn’t be surprised if their offspring are simply different. Many genes are unexpressed until circumstances change. Again, a bit of humility is warranted. As they should say, “There, but for the grace of God, go I”; yet, all who go may receive that grace. Circumstances need to change only a little for many people to find themselves out of their comfort zone. Nobody should be surprised to learn he or she’s a borderline case or has been living close to a borderline— on one side or the other.
