Cheap whiskey and warm beer, prostitution, poker, Madame Lil, a grizzled barman, a tinny upright piano, a lacy garter on the piano player’s sleeve, a painting of a scantily clad lady over the bar, gamblers, outlaws and gangs, drifters, cowboys, gold miners, chewing tobacco spit into a spittoon, a bag of tobacco rolled and lit, brawls, gunfights, broken chairs and tables, challenges to individuals’ honor and disrespect for the law inside its swinging doors.
