Not only on a pedestal

Salvadore Dalí - The Angélus of Gala His wife sits on the wheelbarrow of Millet’s The Angélus in place of a sack of potatoes. She also sits on the wheelbarrow in a version of the painting behind her on the wall. Also, she looks at the painting and at herself, with her back to us, sitting on a pedestal in the gallery. Unlike Millet’s original painting, she’s not in an attitude of prayer. Her hands merely rest on her lap.
