— the empress

L’Imératrice, the empress

My sister the priestess and I have both been accused of being merely symbols, I because my power comes from my lord the emperor and she because hers comes from our Lord our God in heaven. I sit on my throne and am not afraid of showing my anger or my love. My throne gives me wings to fly wherever I’m needed. My people petition me. I may be their last recourse in this world against injustice and arbitrary fate. I can grant them fruitfulness; I can grant them abundance; I can offer them hope. When good comes to them, I can take the credit.
