I stand before my window at night; it mirrors my shadowy image. The dark trees outside are a lot like me, but they can dance in the wind. We both were planted in this place, neither having any choice in the matter. The gale, the rain, the sunlight challenge both of us, as well as nourish. In this immense universe, we are nothing among infinities of blood and bones, fibers and sap— connected to immensities.
