Cracking nuts

After spending holidays around nuts in shells, I became adept at shelling Brazil nuts. Walnuts, pecans, and hazel nuts became routine. Almonds were never a challenge, barely more difficult than peanuts. The real difficult nuts to crack were macadamias, and no one ever pointed out that a macadamia shell can be pried open with a special key.
