Like true dandelion, false dandelion is edible, leaves and root, and similarly bitter, but the stems are branched and solid, not hollow. Also known as spotted catsear, cat’s-ear, hairy cat’s ear, flatweed, or Hypochaeris radicata, its seedheads like dandelion’s blow away like tiny parachutes.
