The origin of this book

I wrote this book and printed maybe three copies of it in May 1985. It consists of extracts from my journal as I traveled on Amtrack from San Francisco to Chicago, New York City, Austin, Los Angeles, San Diego, and then home. Many hours staring from the windows of the trains:

The author

Tom Sharp, Ph.D., holds twenty patents, worked as a programmer for IBM, is a member of Seldovia Village Tribe, and is the author of numerous books.

Tom wrote the poems and painted the Chinese character.
