- Every evening one swan alone in the lake
- same swan same alone these are questions so let’s hear a questioning voice
- for I’m an ordinary man whose attention is governed by reactions
- as I continue to persevere in the serving of my purpose
- knowing beforehand that raindrops come in different sizes
- still the prevailing desire to share my point of view
- knowing beforehand the aim of desire is no desire
- of course still good to get things done one thing after another
- asking myself why is wisdom so tiresome
- as I seek the perfect silence to indicate what we all share
- those answers you come across to questions you were not aware of having
- for example true knowledge dissolves knowing
- or does true knowing dissolve knowledge
- have to go back and look again hoping to find the book on the shelf
- sounding angry I like to exclaim who the shelf do you think you are
- replacing the word hell with the word shelf just to startle my listener
- there being always more of the same in all kinds of weather
- that stillness that knows no becoming in the world of becoming
- always thankful for my name on the mailbox looking good for old times sake
- can’t wait until the starting point becomes the point of arrival
- and you’ll be home soon though time is a relative like a lost cousin
- for all reason can do has already been done
