She remembered colors

She was Sumerian, around three thousand BCE.
 She didn’t know she was special. Her name was Ursa. She wasn’t a chemist who prepared pigments, and she didn’t work for one. The royal statues tried to imitate life. She noticed they weren’t true to life but she tried to keep her feelings to herself. Color depends on the light, indoors or outdoors, on the time of day, and on the surroundings. People think, because their name doesn’t change, that they are a constant, when nothing’s really constant.
