He pretended to know the gods

He knew all their names even though he wasn’t a priest. He was a personal friend of Enil and Kur, also Utu. They knew his name, Nihir, and they confided in him. He wanted to tell others but they told him not to. The gods have both inner and outer presences. Their outer presences, during the reign of Alulim, were controlled by the priests. But nothing could restrict their inner presences. They could make friends with anyone they liked, including a commoner like Nihir.
